Pokalab, the all-in-one poker study platform: the MDA range of the population next to the GTO range, a preflop solution and a trainer handpokalab.com
In one minute
  • Pokalab is a poker study platform. It is built on mass data analysis (MDA): how the player population really plays each spot, measured on ~300M real hands played online.
  • The pool next to GTO. Every MDA spot of NLHE cash games sits next to its GTO strategy, preflop and postflop, so you see exactly where real players leave the solver — and what to do about it.
  • Everything else in the same app. More than 50 preflop GTO solutions, a trainer that deals hands from them, a hand replayer and free poker tools. Coming next: postflop solutions, the Leak Finder and the MDA Solver.
  • Find your leaks, fix them. The Leak Finder (coming soon) measures your own hands against GTO and against the Top Regs; the MDA shows what to exploit in the pool, and the trainer drills the fix.
  • Cash games and tournaments. Cash: GGPoker, PokerStars, iPoker, WPN, 888poker. Tournaments: GGPoker, WPN, Chico.
  • Free to start. A free account opens the MDA on one real spot, a preflop solution, the trainer and the replayer. Pro opens the full MDA, from €49.99 a month.

Study efficiently: why one platform

Studying poker usually takes several tools: a solver or a solution library for the theory, a database of hands to see how real opponents play, a trainer to drill, a replayer to review. Pokalab puts them in one app, around one question asked spot by spot: what does the pool do here, what does GTO do, and what should you do about it?

That is the idea behind its motto, Study Efficiently: find what to work on, see how the pool and GTO play it, and drill the fix, without leaving the app or rebuilding the spot somewhere else.

Find your leaks, then fix them with exploits and drills

The most efficient study starts from your own mistakes. Pokalab is built around that loop:

  1. Find your leaks with the Leak Finder (coming soon). Import your hand histories: the Leak Finder measures them spot by spot against GTO, or against the Top Regs, the winning regulars of the population. It puts your winrate in every preflop situation next to theirs, then shows the preflop and postflop leaks behind it. Hand import is already open, so your hands will be ready when it opens. Hands a user imports stay private to that account and are never added to the population data.
  2. Fix them with exploits. For each leak, the MDA shows how the pool really plays the spot next to GTO — how often it folds, calls and raises, with which sizes and which ranges — so you know what to exploit and by how much. Coming soon, the MDA Solver builds the exploit for you: the solver plays against how the population really plays each spot and finds the strategy that beats it.
  3. Drill them. The trainer deals hands in the spot you pick, from the solutions, and grades every decision with the EV it gave up, until the fix is a habit at the table.

Mass data analysis: how the pool really plays

Mass data analysis means measuring how the whole player population plays a spot on a large sample of real hands, instead of assuming everyone plays GTO. Pokalab’s MDA reads ~300M real hands played online. For any spot it shows the population’s fold, call, bet and raise frequencies, its bet sizes and its ranges, filtered by room, stake, stack depth and player type.

Any line from preflop to the river, heads-up or multiway: you can pin the bet size at every step and combine flop, turn and river textures. Every combination is computed from the hands on demand, not picked from a predefined list of scenarios. The MDA has four views:

  • Explorer lays the population out as a game tree, heads-up or multiway. You browse it the way you browse a solver solution: click an action and the next decision opens, with the population’s frequencies, sizes and ranges, and the GTO strategy beside them.
  • Preflop puts every matchup on one screen: who opens, who defends, and how the pool folds, calls and 3-bets in each, against GTO.
  • Postflop splits any spot by bet size or by board texture.
  • Players & Pools profiles a pool by stake, room and player type: winrate, preflop and postflop tendencies, results over time, and the players in it.

MDA Explorer on a postflop line: NL50 GGPoker regulars, button vs big blind in a 2-bet pot, the line FFFRFC-XBC-XX-X — the button opens and the big blind calls, the button bets the flop and is called, both check the turn, the big blind checks the river. At the top right, the button’s river decision: how often the pool bets and checks. Below, every bet size it uses there — how often (purple) next to GTO (amber), with which range, and how the big blind answers each one.

The GTO side is part of the MDA: every spot of NLHE cash games is compared to its GTO strategy, preflop and postflop. Tournaments have no GTO comparison yet.

Preflop GTO solutions (beta)

More than 50 solved preflop trees. Cash games, each solved with its room's rake and cap: heads-up, 5-max, 6-max and 9-max, at 100 or 200 big blinds, with several open sizes. Tournaments: 8-handed with antes, from 10 to 50 big blinds. Frequencies and EV for every combo. EVs are measured against folding: a fold is worth 0, and every other action reads as what it gains over folding.

The NL50 GGPoker solution is free, and it is the one the population is compared to in the free MDA spot.

Trainer (beta)

Hands dealt from the solutions, every decision graded, with the GTO mix and the EV given up. Studying a range and playing it are two different skills: the trainer is where you practise the second one.

Four difficulty levels decide which hands you are dealt. Realistic keeps the natural mix, clear spots included; Medium, Hard and Expert deal more and more of the close, mixing decisions — the ones that are hard to get right.

Hand replayer and hand import

Replays hands decision by decision. You can already import your own hand histories. Hands a user imports stay private to that account and are never added to the population data.

Research: poker, measured

Pokalab publishes research measured on the same data, in Learn:

  • What Is a Good VPIP? What Winning Players Actually Play — Guides put a good 6-max VPIP anywhere from 20% to 30%. Measured on 11,583 online players with 10,000+ hands in five rooms: the winners play 21–27% (median 24%), the solver 22%, and above 35% almost nobody wins.
  • What GGPoker’s Bad Beat Jackpot Fee and Preflop Rake Really Cost You — GGPoker takes 1 big blind for its jackpot from pots of 30bb or more and rakes 3-bet pots that end preflop. Measured on real 6-max hands from NL25 to NL1000: about one hand in ten pays the fee, and the two charges cost a regular 2.1 to 2.6 bb/100.
  • Player Types, Measured — How many kinds of poker player are there? None by nature, six useful ones by measurement — and the stat that finds the fish is not the stat that finds the winners.
  • Won-When-VPIP — Of the pots you choose to play, how many do you actually win? Winrate climbs in lockstep with this one number — and the best regs in the pool own it.

What is mass data analysis (MDA) in poker?

Measuring how the whole player population actually plays a spot, on a large sample of real hands, instead of assuming everyone plays GTO. Pokalab shows each spot's population frequencies, bet sizes and ranges next to the GTO strategy, so you see where the pool deviates.

Is Pokalab free?

You can start free. A free account opens the Explorer, Postflop and Preflop views on one real spot (NL50 GGPoker 6-max, regular players), the NL50 GGPoker preflop solution, the Trainer and the hand Replayer. Pro opens the full MDA, from €49.99 a month.

Does Pokalab include GTO?

Yes. Every MDA spot of NLHE cash games is shown next to its GTO strategy, preflop and postflop, and Pokalab includes more than 50 solved preflop trees with a trainer. Postflop solutions are coming. Tournaments have no GTO comparison yet.

Is Pokalab a poker solver?

Not one you run yourself. Pokalab gives you solutions that are already solved: more than 50 preflop trees today, and the GTO strategy next to every MDA spot of NLHE cash games, preflop and postflop. Postflop solutions and the MDA Solver, which builds exploitative strategies from the population data, are coming.

Which poker sites and stakes does Pokalab's data cover?

~300M real hands played online, NLHE cash games and tournaments together. Cash games: GGPoker, PokerStars, iPoker, WPN, 888poker. Tournaments: GGPoker, WPN, Chico. There are no Winamax hands. Pro is sold by stake band: up to NL50, up to NL200, NL500 and up.

Does Pokalab work for tournaments?

Yes. The MDA covers tournament hands from GGPoker, WPN, Chico, and the preflop library has tournament solutions: 8-handed with antes, from 10 to 50 big blinds. Tournament spots have no GTO comparison in the MDA yet.

Does Pokalab cover multiway pots?

Yes. Explorer follows any line heads-up or multiway, with the bet size pinned at every step and any combination of flop, turn and river textures.

There is a free account. Pro (the full MDA) costs €49.99 a month (up to NL50), €99.99 a month (up to NL200), €129.99 a month (NL500 and up), taxes included; the annual plan costs 10 months. Beta offer: 50% off the first month of a monthly Pro plan, until 31 October 2026.

Are the hands I import shared?

No. Hands a user imports stay private to that account and are never added to the population data.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Pokalab is a web app: it runs in your browser, and its interface is in English.
